U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius spoke in the Ellen S. Clark Hope Plaza June 16 prior to the dedication of the BJC Institute of Health. Titled "Collaboration Celebration," the dedication also featured National Institutes of Health Director Francis Collins, MD, PhD, and artist Maya Lin, who designed the plaza's reflecting pool. Astronaut, founder to visit middle school science camp

WUSTL is hosting its fourth ExxonMobil Bernard Harris Summer Science Camp beginning this week for 48 middle school students from throughout the St. Louis region. Former NASA astronaut and camp namesake Bernard A. Harris Jr., MD, will visit the campers from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, June 30, in Holmes Lounge, Ridgley Hall. FULL STORY

Obituary: Joe Deal, former art school dean

  • Director's Cup winner revealed today. Washington University is in second place in the 2009-10 Division III Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup Standings for best overall sports program and will find out the final results today. Williams College, 13-time champions, held the lead through the first round of spring championships with 990.75 points. WUSTL was second with 701.50 points.
